How many managers in baseball have played in Japan?

Charlie Manuel, Dave Johnson and ex-Colorado manager Tracy to name a few...

American players encounter many difficulties both in culture and language, in and outside baseball, when they come here. Some seem to enjoy them, and some don't.  In any case, their experiences will be good for being managers.

I remember Manuel played for Yakult and Kintetsu as a cleanup hitter. He was one of the best of all Americans who have played in Japan. Interestingly, he seemed to be only a power hitter and not playing small baseball, but the Philly manager manages those superstars in Philadelphia very well now.

As a Carp fan, I supported Marty Brown while he managed the Carp for 2006 to 2009. Now he is a manager of Las Vegas, a Toronto 3A team. He manages Japanese players well and motivate them to play to a higher level. I expect him to be a big league manager soon.
